In a continued effort to build strong and effective leaders across the country, The Advanced Leadership Institute (TALI) hosted a two-day conference in Dallas, Texas for its 2024 National Executive Leadership Academy (NELA) cohort. The conference, scheduled from October 24th through 25th, featured presentations from top industry experts Lenetra King, a Fort-Worth resident and founder of Watch Me EXCEL®, and Calvin Stovall, TALI’s Director of Executive Programs and CEO of ICONIC Presentations, LLC. During the conference, cohort members learned about Developing a Playbook for Leaders of Color and Customer Focused Leadership. Additionally, the cohort benefited from continued peer networking opportunities.

“We were thrilled to be able to add this conference to our already robust curriculum. Based on feedback from our inaugural 2023 National Executive Leadership Academy cohort, we learned that connection points, such as this conference, enhance the overall programming experience,” says Evan Frazier, President and CEO of The Advanced Leadership Institute. “Many of the participants, who are part of the national cohort, reside in various states, so this conference provided a great opportunity for our cohort members to strengthen the bonds they quickly formed with each other at the beginning of the program.”

NELA is an executive education program delivered in partnership with Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business (CMU) and complements TALI’s Executive Leadership Academy (ELA) and Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). Each leadership program is designed to address the unique challenges Black leaders face and prepare professionals for executive advancement. Additionally, the programs uphold the pillars of mentorship, executive coaching, academic instruction, and peer networking. While ELA and ELP are delivered in an in-person format to serve professionals in the Greater Pittsburgh region, NELA is structured in a hybrid format to serve professionals from across the country (e.g., TX, NC, FL, NE, to name a few states).

TALI’s programming for the NELA 2024 cohort officially began on September 9th. From September 9th-September 13th, participants received in-person academic instruction from top industry experts and professors from CMU, Columbia, and other prestigious universities. In addition to the conference and in-person September session, participants will receive online sessions from October to November and return to CMU’s campus in Pittsburgh, PA for the final in-person session and graduation ceremony.
